FAQ
Answers to the questions I hear most often. If you don't see yours here, feel free to reach out.
If something is causing you distress — whether it's a relationship, a life transition, anxiety, or simply a feeling that something is off — therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. Many people find therapy most valuable when they use it proactively, before problems become entrenched.
The free 20-minute consultation is a chance for us to connect, for you to share what's bringing you in, and for me to answer any questions you have. It's also an opportunity for both of us to get a sense of whether we'd be a good fit. There's no obligation, and no pressure.
The easiest way is to use the contact form on this site or to call or email me directly. I'll get back to you promptly to schedule a free consultation and answer any initial questions.
I see clients by appointment. Please reach out by phone or email and we'll find a time that works for your schedule.
I do not accept insurance for therapy and do not provide Superbills.
Fee Schedule: My hourly rate is $200 and additional time is billed accordingly. The exception is that intake for couples therapy is $500 which includes a 90 minute session, online Gottman Relationship Assessment, plus other proprietary assessments I've developed to give additional information. This fee also includes my time for analyzing the information and preparing a comprehensive written "Balanced Approach Relationship Roadmap" report outlining strengths, challenges and a preliminary plan of action. I'm happy to discuss fees during our free consultation.
Please reach out to discuss your situation. I'm happy to have that conversation.
The Gottman Method is the most extensively researched approaches to couples therapy available. Developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman over four decades of research, it provides a comprehensive framework for understanding relationships — what makes them work, what puts them at risk, and how to strengthen them. As a Certified Gottman Therapist, I use this method as the foundation of my couples work to provide structure. I also utilize concepts from other methods when indicated.
Ideally, both partners participate. However, individual therapy can still be valuable if you're the only one willing to engage — working on yourself and your own patterns can shift the dynamic in a relationship even when your partner isn't in the room.
There's no fixed number of sessions. It depends on the issues involved, how long patterns have been established, and how consistently both partners practice new skills between sessions. Some couples make significant progress in a few months; others benefit from longer-term work. You are in control of the pace.
A Couples Intensive condenses the assessment and early stages of therapy into two focused days. Through comprehensive assessment, individual and joint sessions, personalized feedback, and a written Balanced Approach Relationship Roadmap, you'll gain a deeper understanding of your relationship and a clear, practical path forward.
